Onion: Body Benefits
Body benefits
Why onion helps
What is in onion, and what those nutrients and plant compounds do in the body.
Phytonutrients
Onions are known for two families of compounds: organosulfur compounds, the source of their bite, and quercetin-family flavonoids. In lab work, onion sulfur compounds showed anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity. We use onion sprouts to add these compounds alongside our cruciferous greens.
What we know and don't
Most onion research is on the bulb, not the sprout, so we keep our onion claims narrow: organosulfur and antioxidant support as part of a blend.
